Deviant Art is rapidly becoming a place that is harder and harder to navigate. With the number of deviants increasing, there has been an exponential growth of works to look at. Looking at each image would be an exercise in futility. Not to worry. The goal of this account is to showcase the best of Deviant art; the deviations that set themselves apart from the rest. See what wonderful art the world deviants have to offer without sifting through thousands of deviations each day.

Every Monday I will go through deviant art and your suggestions and post them in this journal using the :thumb: system. I will showcase ten thumbnails and twenty links. In an effort to be impartial, every deviant is invited to suggest as many deviations as they wish with the understanding that the following three rules apply.
No self promotion. Any suggestion of a deviation you own WILL be ignored.
Must not be a DD or DTF.
You must send me a link via notes system here at DA!

DA guided Tour by Leodadominico This is a great resource for newbies at deviant art who want to learn the basics of the site. This was geared toward V2 but many things still apply.
Photo Class Basics Knowing Light This is a great Lighting tutorial for the beginning artist! Really does a great job of setting out the basics of lighting techniques.
How to create colored line art a great tutorial on how to color Line art (anime). Extensive tutorial with great visual aids.
MEDIUM a basic History of Art and Design This is very helpful for a beginning deviant. Take a look and learn about the subject we love ... ART!
Pixel Pushed Castle This is a pixel art tutorial using a castle.
Digital Inking A nice tutorial on how to create an look as if it was inked using Photoshop. Very nice in depth tutorial!


CONTEST ONE- "Inspirational Beginnings" - This contest is to mark our first contest. Winner will receive a free 1 month subscription.
Create a deviation in any style and upload it appropriately. Deviation must have a theme and description to follow the Idea of what inspires you to start something.

Deviation must not break any of deviant arts etiquette Policy or Submission Policy failure to adhere to deviant arts rules will result in disqualification!

reply to this journal. In the reply state the link to your deviation and also the title. I will then look at them.

Judging will be done by me and a fellow deviant of my choosing. One winner will be chosen by Jan 30th 2004 the winner will be posted here in the journal and will be added to this accounts friends list. Each deviation will show up in the message page assuring that every time you upload I will see it.
